Taigum: Police detain man after woman’s body discovered in Queensland home

A man has been arrested and a homicide investigation has been launched after a woman’s body was discovered inside a Queensland home on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to the Osprey Place, Taigum address around 12.30am and found the woman who was unresponsive.

The 47-year-old Taigum woman had suffered critical injuries and paramedics could not revive her. She was declared deceased at the scene.

Following inquiries, police then made their way to a residence on Hackman Street in McDowall at around 1.10am and took a 52-year-old man into custody who is now being questioned over the incident.

“Two crime scenes have been established at the Taigum and McDowall addresses,” a police statement said.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious around the Osprey Place area on Friday night, or may have relevant CCTV footage, to come forward.
