Tragic end to search for missing hiker in Queensland’s Glasshouse Mountains
The body of a 20-year-old man has been found in Queensland’s Glasshouse Mountains, following a five-day search.
The hiker last communicated with his loved ones by sending a photo from the top of Mount Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast about 1pm on Sunday, before all other attempts to contact him were met with silence.
Search and rescue teams found the Mountain Creek’s man body on the north-western face of the mountain.

“The death is being treated as non-suspicious and police will prepare a report for the coroner.”
Temperatures climbed to a high of 34C in the area the day he made the climb over difficult terrain to the summit.
Mount Beerwah is a popular spot for hikers and rock climbers, however, due to its difficult terrain and steep rock faces, multiple rescues are carried out each year.
