Woman allegedly armed with knife shot by police at Townsville pub West End Hotel

A woman allegedly armed with a knife has been shot after an altercation with police in Townsville.
Police were called to the West End Hotel on Ingham Rd in Townsville shortly before 5.30pm on Tuesday after reports a woman armed with a knife was “making threats”.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.A Queensland Police spokesman told NewsWire the woman was “armed with a knife” and “came at police” and was “subsequently shot in the abdomen”.
Officers administered first aid to the woman before she was taken to hospital for further treatment.
“A crime scene has been declared and investigations are continuing,” a statement read.
Dozens of police cars gathered around the pub on Ingham St, with witnesses reportedly hearing a female officer telling the woman to stop.
“I just heard the police telling her to stop, telling her to stop, then the gun shot,” witness Joanne Aldous told the Courier-Mail.
