“We had first floor collapse to ground floor within about 10 to 15 minutes of our arrival due to the intensity of the fire,” Gladstone station officer Mark Erridge said.

Three people who were initially unaccounted were confirmed dead a short time later.

Detective Acting Superintendent Luke Peachey confirmed a woman and two boys had died.

7NEWS revealed the woman found inside was Jordana Johnson.

“We will be working through the coming days to establish exactly what has happened,” Peachey said.

“Obviously the fire scene is very horrific for the first responders and everyone involved and will take some time to go through.

“We’ll be working with the families, once we establish who those people are, to try to work out what happened.

“We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the families who are affected.”

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli said he is deeply saddened to hear about the tragedy.

“My heart really goes out to the family, neighbours and first responders and any support needed I’m sure it’ll be given.”

Police have declared the site a crime scene and investigations continue.
