Rebel Wilson reveals who she lost her virginity to in tell-all memoir
Rebel Wilson really is telling all in her new memoir, including revealing the identity of the actor to whom she lost her virginity when she was 35.
In a chapter from the book Rebel Rising titled “Late Bloomer”, the Sydney-born star revealed she had sex for the first time in 2016 when she was in a relationship with actor and comedian Mickey Gooch Jr.
Wilson, now aged 44, explained in the book that she was almost at her “highest weight” when it happened — which was during filming for the rom-com How To Be Single.

But it was the shock of her mother’s breast cancer diagnosis that motivated her to lose her virginity, writing she was determined to “feel the fear and just do it”.
“Life IS short. I didn’t want to live my life without experiencing sex. Experiencing love. I just put it out into the universe that I was finally ready,” Wilson wrote.
“I was going to sl** it up with the next guy that came along – who also seemed like a suitable marriage candidate.”
Soon after the cancer shock, Wilson was set up on a date with Gooch by her former Pitch Perfect co-star Hana Mae Lee.
Wilson admitted in the book that she instantly found the comedian “sexy”, but that it took a month of dating to feel ready to sleep with him.
She invited Gooch to New York City to stay with her while she filmed How To Be Single and said that after the big event, she wanted to be with him “all the time”.
Although the relationship ended around six months later, Wilson said the pair have remained good friends.
In an interview with People magazine ahead of the book’s release, the Aussie star said she had revealed how old she was when she had sex for the first time in an effort to normalise “late bloomers”.
“People can wait till they’re ready or wait till they’re a bit more mature,” Wilson explained.
“And I think that could be a positive message. You obviously don’t have to wait until you’re in your thirties like me, but you shouldn’t feel pressure as a young person.”
She added that she had been cynical about marriage and “embarrassed” about the topic of sex in the past, but opened up to the idea of love and potential long-term partnership in the years after her father’s death.
Rebel Rising has generated plenty of headlines as more details from the explosive tell-all memoir emerged ahead of its supposed April 3 release.
That release has now been delayed by publisher Harper Collins Australia amid reports Wilson faced legal threats over comments she made about Borat actor Sacha Baron Cohen.
Online retailers appear to have canceled pre-orders and issued refunds to customers following the sudden change.
It comes as Wilson’s book is expected to feature allegations about Baron Cohen’s conduct while filming The Brothers Grimsby.
Leaked pages from the book said she felt “scared” when Baron Cohen allegedly asked her to get “naked” while making the 2016 film.
“While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence,” Cohen’s spokesperson previously said in a statement.
“Including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”
Baron Cohen is believed to have engaged lawyers amid talks he is mentioned in her book.
