The victim of a tragic hit-and-run incident in Brisbane has been identified as 30-year-old Ryan Grafton.

The crash, involving a stolen Ford Mondeo and a Toyota Camry, occurred in Wacol at the intersection of Boundary Road and Progress Road around 2.30am on Tuesday.

Mr Grafton, who was one of two Uber passengers in the Toyota Camry, died at the scene after the driver of the stolen Ford Mondeo allegedly ran a red light before colliding with the ride-share vehicle at high speed.

His heartbroken family has remembered Mr Grafton as a kind person.

‘Ryan was a kind person. He wasn’t perfect but he had the biggest heart,’ they said in a statement.

‘He was loved by his family and friends.’

The driver of the Camry, a 42-year-old man, sustained suspected back injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

A 26-year-old female passenger in the Camry was also taken to the same hospital in a serious but stable condition, suffering from chest and abdominal pain.

The driver of the Ford Mondeo fled the scene before police arrived and is still on the run.

Authorities are urging the driver to come forward and are appealing to any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to contact them.
