Rye homicide: Two bodies shot dead on Parson St in Mornington Peninsula, investigation launched

Two bodies have been discovered with gunshot wounds in a Melbourne home.

Police have descended on a suburban home early on Monday, after an alleged dispute, locating two bodies with gunshot wounds.

Emergency services were called to Parson St in Rye after reports of an “altercation” that occurred between a group of people shortly after 4am.

On arrival, police located a man with gunshot wounds.

Emergency services attempted to revive the man and woman but they were declared dead at the scene.

Multiple police vehicles have been seen on the street with police taping off the area.

“It’s believed a second man fled the scene,” a Victoria police spokesperson said.

“At this early stage in the investigation, it’s believed the parties were known to each.”

A major crime scene has been set up and a homicide investigation is underway.
