Scorpio, Bullit: Australian police hunt man who sent threatening letters to politicians, high-profile leaders
‘We have very real concerns about the content of these letters,’ police say of the man they believe is in his 60s.
Australian police are on the hunt for a man, under the alias of ‘Scorpio’, who wrote over 100 letters to politicians and other high-profile leaders.
Investigators from the Australian Federal Police and NSW Police have released excerpts of the letters, which they said were sent between 2015 and 2026, and reveal harassing and threatening behaviour.
“We have very real concerns about the content of these letters, and people in public life deserve to go about their jobs or careers without being subject to harassment or threats,” AFP Superintendent Nathan Robertson said.

Other letters by the author, whose other name is ‘Bullit’, were marked by unusually prominent capital letters, particularly “F”, “L”, “T”, “N” and “H”, police said.

“We believe the offender is of Caucasian appearance and in his 60s, so we are appealing to the community if they recognise any of the symbols or names in the letter excerpts and can relate them to someone of that profile to please let police know,” NSW Police’s Superintendent John Walke said.
“We are determined to bring this person to account because their behaviour is certainly offensive and at times threatening, and people deserve to be able to go about their work without being subjected to threats.”
Anyone with information about the author of the letters are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
