Adelaide teenager killed in collision with concrete truck on Port Wakefield Hwy identified

Local residents rushed outside their homes after hearing the shocking crash just after midnight.

A 19-year-old woman killed in a crash on the Port Wakefield Hwy in Adelaide’s north has been identified.

Amy, from Buckland Park, was driving a white Lexus sedan which collided with a concrete truck at the intersection of Port Wakefield Hwy and McEvoy Rd in Waterloo Corner at 12.15am, on Tuesday.

Her car burst into flames as passing motorists rushed to help.

She died at the scene, SA Police said.

The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Amy’s boyfriend and friend laid flowers at the crash site on Tuesday.

Further north on Port Wakefield Hwy, a 26-year-old pedestrian was critically injured when she was hit by a truck at the intersection of Richardson Rd at Lower Light at 2.30am on Tuesday.
