The Melbourne billionaire played Santa early this year.

Melbourne billionaire Adrian Portelli, otherwise known as “Lambo Guy”, handed out vouchers worth hundreds of dollars to Coles shoppers in Adelaide.

The 35-year-old announced the giveaway on his Instagram Story feed on Tuesday, saying he would be at Coles Munno Para and Port Adelaide on Wednesday handing out $100 and $200 vouchers.

Although the original post has disappeared, it has been widely shared elsewhere.

Long queues stretched outside the door of the Munno Para supermarket with Portelli claiming he had given away $75,000 to those in need.

He then visited the Port Adelaide store on Commercial Rd about midday.

It’s not the first time the billionaire businessman has pulled off such a stunt, having previously handed out $80,000 worth of gift vouchers to Coles shoppers in Victoria.

Portelli famously had his $3 million McLaren Senna GTR craned 57 storeys off the ground and into the apartment for it to be displayed in the living area, earning him the nickname “The Lambo Guy”.

He is the founder of subscription-only loyalty company LCMT+ and bought the penthouse last year.

The purchase set a record for Melbourne’s most expensive apartment.
