The hunt is on to find a mystery South Australian millionaire who only has days left to claim their prize.

The clock is ticking for a lucky winner of $1 million as the X Lotto ticket remains unclaimed after almost 12 months.

Lottery officials are urgently seeking the Mawson Lakes resident or visitor who purchased a $1 million winning Monday & Wednesday X Lotto ticket nearly a year ago, as the deadline to claim the prize is fast approaching.

The mystery winner may be completely unaware that they’ve been sitting on the life-changing ticket for almost 12 months.

The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre said time was ticking for the mystery player to come forward to claim and to claim their million-dollar prize and urged all players to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“Time is running out for this mystery millionaire. In South Australia lottery winners have just one year from the draw date to claim their prize before it is forfeited to the Lotteries Commission of South Australia, which has a prize claim process and associated administration costs,” she said.

“It’s likely our mystery winner has been going about their year as normal with no idea they became an overnight millionaire almost a year ago!

“Can you imagine if you’ve been unknowingly holding the golden ticket worth $1 million for an entire year?

“We’re urging all players who purchased a Monday & Wednesday X Lotto ticket from BP Mawson Lakes to check their tickets as soon as possible.

The elusive player held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4325 on Wednesday 27 September 2023. Each entry scored $1 million.

The entry was unregistered, which means officials from The Lott have no way to contact the winner to break the life-changing news and must wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

From Monday 20 May 2024, Monday & Wednesday X Lotto changed to a single lottery game called Weekday Windfall across Australia (excluding WA).

The division one winning entry was purchased at BP Mawson Lakes, 603-615 Salisbury Highway, Mawson Lakes in South Australia.
