Friday’s attack began just before 3am, when an intruder drove a grey Ford inside the warehouse through an open roll-a-door.

“What could have happened is he could’ve died, and it would’ve caused a lot of damage,” he told 7NEWS

“Steve the forklift driver was very confused,” Abrooks said.

“He said ‘You right mate’ he (the intruder) just said some aggressive words, then tried to run him (Steve) over.”

The fork-lift driver’s quick thinking saved his life, as the unknown man backed his car into the warehouse in an attempt to crush Steve.

The intruder then drove out, with Steve quickly rushing to shut the warehouse roll-a-door.

The alleged arsonist then started another two fires outside before speeding off in his Ford.

“He (Steve) heard bang, bang, bang on the door and then noticed flames coming up on the door,” Abrooks said.

Abrooks said he would’ve loved to have caught the arsonist that firebombed his workplace, or chased him in his commodore.

“Oh man, I wish I was here,” he said.

“That VT of mine goes pretty hard, and I would’ve caught that ford.

“I might not have the (police) lights, but you would’ve caught me going woo, woo woo.

“I’d of definitely tackled him, there are plenty of things harder (in the car) than my didgeridoo.”

The arsonist is still on the run, with the public urged to contact police if they have any information.
