Tasmanian woman Margaret Marshall’s body found days after she became lost while driving

A Tasmanian woman’s body has been found, days after she told family members she was lost while driving.

Margaret Marshall, 83, was last seen on Tuesday about 5pm and was reported missing the next day.

She was last seen at West Mooreville and later told family members she was lost on the East Yolla Rd.

Tasmanian Police believe they have now found her body in Penguin.

Police searched the Gawler area on foot and in the air on Thursday, believing Marshall may have travelled there.

The remains were discovered by a member of the public at Dial Rd in Penguin on Friday about midday.

“The woman is yet to be formally identified however it is believed to be Margaret,” Tasmanian Police said.

“Initial investigations suggest there are no suspicious circumstances.

“Our thoughts are with Margaret’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
