The Entrance: Search continues after 11-year-old boy swept into the sea on the Central Coast

A search is set to resume on Monday for an 11-year-old boy who swept into the ocean off The Entrance on the Central Coast on Sunday.

Emergency services responded after bystanders reported that a child was pulled into the ocean while attempting to cross The Entrance Channel at around 5.15pm.

The boy was crossing with his father and three younger siblings, aged 11, nine, seven, and three when he was taken by the current.

Local police, along with the Marine Area Command, Surf Life Saving, and the Toll and Westpac Rescue Helicopters, launched a large-scale search by land, air, and sea.

Despite extensive efforts, the boy could not be located, and the search was suspended at nightfall.

The search is scheduled to resume at 8am Monday, with multiple agencies set to assist once more.

Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
