Two people have died after a truck veered off the road and ploughed into a home in Tower Hill.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Princes Highway just after 7am on Friday following reports that a truck had crashed into the house.

The two occupants inside the residence, who have yet to be formally identified, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The male truck driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Specialist teams are on their way to the scene to conduct investigations.

The Princes Highway is closed in both directions between Gormans Rd and Rocks Rd in Tower Hill.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
