“Those searches have been completed, the interviews have been conducted, those people have been released,” Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Mike Bush told reporters in Wangaratta on Friday.

“There may or may not be charges that follow.”

On Friday morning, 7NEWS captured exclusive vision of Mali turning up to Wangaratta Court with her supporters.

There appeared to be confusion among the group as the court was closed and they left a short time later.

The raid on Thursday night was part of an ongoing police manhunt for 56-year-old Freeman, also known as Desmond Filby, who fled into bushland after allegedly killing two police officers and seriously injuring a third.

Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson, 59, and Senior Constable Vadim de Waart, 35, were among 10 police officers executing a search warrant relating to alleged child sex offending when Freeman opened fire.

Bush said over 450 officers were involved in the hunt for the alleged killer and that every resource available was being used.

Officers from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have also joined in the search.

Anyone that was found to be aiding the fugitive would be facing a criminal offence, he said.

“This person does not deserve to be aided in any way.”
