Two people have died under suspicious circumstances after their bodies were found hours apart in Melbourne on Friday.

A woman was found dead inside a home on Ormond Rd in Ascot Vale just before 4pm, as police and homicide squad detectives were seen swarming the property.

Two hours later police were called to an incident in Little River where a man was found with critical injuries on the Princes Fwy.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, however, the man was declared dead a short time later.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incidents continue to be investigated,” police said.

“However, at this stage detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to the matters.”

The man and woman are believed to be known to each other.

It is not yet known exactly how the man and woman died.
