Bodycam footage worn by injured cop shows moment he was stabbed outside home in Cranbourne West, Melbourne
Confronting bodycam footage has been released of the moment a rookie cop was stabbed by a teenager in a premeditated attack outside a home in Melbourne’s southeast.
The officer — who has only been in the job for about 18 months — was stabbed in his right thigh outside a home in Cranbourne West on Tuesday afternoon.
He had been lured to the property by his alleged attacker who made a false report that an aggravated burglary was taking place.

After getting out of his car, the video shows the moment the officer spots his alleged attacker, 18-year-old Moses Thurairajasingam, in the driveway of his home on George Frederick Rd.
He asks the teenager if he called police as a man believed to be Thurairajasingam walks towards him with his hand in his shorts pocket.
Thurairajasingam replies “yeah” before appearing to pull a knife out of his pocket and allegedly stabbing the officer.
The junior cop can be heard screaming out in pain and stumbling backwards onto the ground.
“Oh f***,” he says.
“Oh I’ve been stabbed.”
The man believed to be Thurairajasingam can be seen watching on in the background, looking over at another attending officer.
CCTV from the home shows another angle of the attack in which the cop manages to stand back up after falling to the ground.
The officer was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
Thurairajasingam was arrested and charged with assaulting an emergency worker on duty, intentionally causing serious injury, common law assault and making a false report to police.
He faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where prosecutors said the teen was trying to get police to shoot him.
The court was told he had asked his sister: “If I stab someone, will someone shoot me?”
The magistrate told the court his alleged actions were premeditated and said the teen posed a risk to the community.
Thurairajasingam was denied bail and will undergo psychiatric treatment in custody before returning to court on November 22.
