16-year-old taken to sunshine hospital with stab wounds.

A teenager has been stabbed in Melbourne’s northwest when he was set upon by a group of people armed with machetes.

Police say the teenager was stabbed in the arm at a bus stop near a school on City Vista Ct, Fraser Rise about 3.10pm on Thursday.

A group of up to seven people had reportedly been on the hunt for a 16-year-old boy, police said.

The teen has been taken to Sunshine Hospital in an unknown condition.

The group fled the scene in a black Honda sedan.

Police are investigating and City Vista Ct is currently closed.
