DoorDash and Wing launch drone delivery service in 26 Melbourne suburbs in the east
Residents in more than two dozen Melbourne suburbs can now order food, drinks and other items via a drone thanks to a new delivery service.
DoorDash has teamed up with Australia’s first drone delivery service called Wing and is based at Eastland shopping centre in Melbourne’s east.
The service can deliver food, beverages including coffee and small household items and launched for 26 suburbs in Melbourne’s east on Thursday.

Customers can place an order on the DoorDash app and will have an option to have their item delivered by a drone when they check out.
The order will then be packaged, attached to the drone on a retractable wire and delivered to the customer’s door.
The 26 Melbourne East suburbs where drone delivery will be available are:

The launch of the delivery drones in Victoria comes after its success in southeast Queensland over the past five years, flying from Logan, Brisbane and Springfield/ Ipswich.
