An e-scooter rider has been killed in a collision with a truck in the coastal town of Port Fairy in southwestern Victoria.

The crash happened on Toolong Rd just after 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The male scooter rider, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene, Victoria Police said.

The truck driver was uninjured and is assisting police with their investigation.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined at this stage,” police said.

Port Fairy is a historic fishing town three hours west of Melbourne.
