A man has been arrested as detectives investigate two alleged sexual assaults in Melbourne’s south-west, including one at a primary school, that police believe may be linked.
The 39-year-old, who has no fixed address, was taken into custody in Hoppers Crossing about 11.40am on Friday.
He is expected to be interviewed by detectives from Victoria Police’s Sexual Crimes Squad.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The arrest comes as police allege the first attack occurred about 11.30am on Thursday, when a man armed with a knife forced his way into a Whitsunday Drive home before sexually assaulting a woman.
The second alleged assault happened outside a primary school on Langridge Street on Friday morning just before 7am when a woman was sexually assaulted before a man followed her onto the school premises.
Detectives are working to establish whether the two incidents are connected.
Meanwhile a second crime scene was established on nearby Branton Road after a resident reported a suspected burglary overnight, with police finding several items inside the property that had been tampered with.
Officers remain in the area as the investigation continues, with detectives conducting foot patrols and CCTV revision.
