The child has been airlifted to Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

Stag Hotel Learmonth publican Ashlee Brook said the mum had struggled for phone reception but also wanted to cut the distance paramedics had to travel by racing to her venue.

Brook told 7NEWS.com.au she offered the child a fresh face cloth and helped keep the mum as calm as possible with a cold drink.

Paramedics arrived about two minutes after the injured child did.

The child was assessed in an ambulance and Brook was unaware what injuries they had sustained.
