Norlane: Homicide police investigate after man who discharged himself from hospital later found dead

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man who discharged himself from hospital was later found dead.

The 41-year-old man was discovered inside a house in Norlane, Victoria at 5.30pm on New Year’s Day.

Police say that on Monday he had been taken to hospital for what appeared to be assault-related injuries but later discharged himself.

“Local police attended the Robin Avenue address around 5.30pm on Thursday, 1 January and located the man deceased inside the address,” a police statement reads.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing.”Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam/CCTV footage or further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
