Toorak Road, South Yarra: Mecca beauty store in Melbourne ram-raided in dramatic smash-and-grab

A luxury beauty store on one of Melbourne’s busiest shopping strips has been left in ruins after a dramatic smash-and-grab raid early this morning.
The Mecca store on the corner of Toorak Road in South Yarra was broken into before dawn, with smashed signage, alarms blaring and beauty products strewn across the floor when police arrived, Sunrise reported.
Detectives believe the shop may have been ram-raided with a white van and forced open by intruders, who fled the scene before officers arrived.

Shaken staff arriving at the shop switched off the alarm system as police continued their search, while detectives worked to establish whether thieves targeted specific high-end products or grabbed what they could.
No arrests have yet been made, and police are expected to release more information later today.
