A worksite dispute has sparked a violent rampage in Melbourne’s north with tradies forced to run for their lives. A rogue contractor drove at them in his Ute, threatened them with weapons, and rammed his boss' car, in a dispute over dodgy work.

A concrete contractor allegedly went rogue at a worksite in Melbourne’s north on Saturday when an alleged pay dispute over dodgy workmanship devolved into a wild rampage.

Tradies at the site on High St at Thomastown were seen scrambling to safety behind concrete bollards on CCTV footage, as a white ute allegedly attempted to ram them.

Footage also appears to show the 39-year-old Craigieburn man allegedly wielding a golf club, and yelling death threats, before speeding down the road towards the fleeing workers, and twice smashing into his boss’ car.

“Pay your f****ing money, or you die today,” the man can be heard allegedly yelling in the footage.

“Let’s go c*** ... I’m still coming for you, you better hide.”

One worker at the site told 7NEWS that the incident erupted following an expensive error at the construction site.

“We poured concrete on Thursday, and his levels were completely out, which is going to cost the concreting boss probably $3000 or $4000 to fix,” worker Lukas Lymberatos told 7NEWS.

This led to a payment dispute between the Craigieburn man and worker Abbz Kaya.

“He came on aggressive, asking for his money, and there was an altercation, and then he pulled out a knife,” Kaya told 7NEWS.

Hours after the incident, the 39-year-old turned himself into police and now faces charges, hefty damages, and a ban from the worksite, 7NEWS understands.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Victoria Police confirmed the parties involved in the alleged incident were known to each other, and that nobody was injured.

“Investigators have been told a man rammed his vehicle into the victims unoccupied parked car before leaving the scene.

“The male driver, a 39-year-old Craigieburn man, self-presented at Craigieburn Police Station where he is currently assisting police with their enquiries.”
