Victoria earthquake: Magnitude 3.2 earthquake strikes Mornington Peninsula

An early-morning earthquake has rattled the Mornington Peninsula, jolting residents from their sleep near the coastal town of Flinders.
The magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck at 4.39am on Thursday at a depth of 10 kilometres.
Nearly 600 people lodged reports with Geoscience Australia, with tremors felt as far away as Geelong and Melbourne.

“Woke me up in Mt Martha but thought it was resident possum running across the roof!” one woman wrote on Facebook.
“Felt it bad in Safety Beach! Bed shook and windows rattled,” another said.
One woman from Rye said it “sounded like thunder going through the house,” while another woman from Blairgowrie said it made hr “fly out of bed.”
“Felt it...a loud roaring under the house, windows rattled, and my bed shook in Blairgowrie,” she wrote.
