Woman confirmed killed in Kuranjang fire, investigation launched.

A woman been killed in a house fire at Kurunjang, in Melbourne’s west, in the early hours of Tuesday, Victoria Police said.

She was the sole occupant of the home on Cameron Ct, which was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived about 3.15am.

Firefighters, police and paramedics responded to multiple triple-0 calls alerting emergency services to the blaze.

Sunrise understands it took firefighters half an hour to access the property.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, was found dead inside the brick home, Fire Rescue Victoria said.

“FRV will remain on scene through the morning to ensure all hot spots are extinguished,” it said.

The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious, but investigations are ongoing.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
