A major Australian airline has slashed prices on 1.5 million domestic flights across the country - with fares starting as low as $55.

A major Aussie airline has dropped huge discounts on more than one million domestic flights, with prices for one-way fares starting at $55.

The Virgin Australia supercharged sale will begin on Wednesday run for one week, with discounted fares for more than 1.5m domestic flights across the country.

Economy one-way flights from Sydney to Byron (Ballina) start at $55, with flights from Melbourne to Hobart at $59.

Brisbane residents can catch a one-way economy flight to Newcastle for $79 or Hamilton Island for $99.

Those in Melbourne can escape the autumn chill with a one-way flight to the Gold Coast for $89 or spend a relaxing weekend away in Hobart for $69.

Sydney residents can jet away to Cairns from $115 or explore Perth from $230.

Flights included in the sale will depart between July 22, 2026 and March 27, 2027.

Guests who want extra leg room can also upgrade their seats to Economy X, which is available on selected flights for an additional $15.

The sale commences on Wednesday and will run until April 28, unless sold out prior.
