An Australian woman has tragically died in a road incident overseas, just days after her 28th birthday.
Virgin Australia flight attendant Lucinta Evans was in Nadi, a city in Fiji’s main island, when she was killed in a road incident on March 28, the DailyMail reports.
Ms Evans leaves behind a heartbroken family who are remembering her as a vibrant young woman who had an ”energy that touched everyone who knew her.”

“Right now, we are all trying to process this loss and ask for some privacy as we grieve together.
“Thank you for keeping Lucinta, her beloved partner, and our close family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
“We appreciate all the love and support, and we will share details for her farewell when we are ready.”
Ms Evans’ death has also devastated her coworkers, with a fellow Virgin colleague posting a touching tribute online.
“As your Cabin Manager, I come back to the place where it all happened. I won’t be able to look after you anymore on our flights or anything about work,” Cabin Manager Lissy Hyde wrote.
“I ask you to look after us from above. Fly with us my girl, beat us to every destination so we know you’re there. You are loved, and we will continue to live life as bright and loud as you.”
Photos shared by Ms Hyde show an abundance of flower bouquets lining the footpath where the tragedy occurred.
A GoFundMe has now been set up to help Ms Evan’s family fund the cost of the funeral and advocate for road safety.
“We are coming together to support Lucinta’s family and her partner during this incredibly difficult time. Alongside their grief, they are facing unexpected financial strain after the funeral,” the GoFundMe statement read.
“This fund is to help ease that burden, giving them the space and time to mourn and heal without added stress. A portion of the funds will also be used in Lucinta’s memory—through road safety advocacy or a memorial plaque—with the hope of raising awareness and helping prevent future incidents at this location.
“Every contribution, no matter how small, will help provide stability and support. If you’re able to give, thank you. If not, sharing means just as much.
At the time of writing, the fundraising campaign has raised $6550 of its $12,000 target.
