Wantirna South, Victoria: Woman dies after car crashes into cafe at Westfield Knox in Melbourne

A woman has been killed while dining at a cafe after a car crashed into the premises on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were contacted about the crash around 12.45pm, which happened outside of Martini and Co at Melbourne’s Westfield Knox.
A woman sitting outside the cafe at the time of the crash died at the scene, a Victorian Police spokesperson said.

A second cafe patron was treated by paramedics at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle, which is believed to be a Tesla, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.
Police said they do not believe the crash was intentional, but a crime scene has been established and an investigation was launched.
Martini and Co posted on Facebook that the premises would be “temporarily closed until further notice” due to “an accident”.
“Please stay safe and we’ll keep you updated when we can reopen,” they wrote.
