Perth has been battered with rain over the last few days, with another downpour predicted for Thursday.

On Wednesday, the WA capital received 16mm of rain in a four-hour burst between 5.30am and 9.30am (AWST) with further showers expected.

At least two stations in Margaret River in the southwest of the state topped 20mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac spoke about the day’s forecast for WA and for the rest of the country.

“Partly cloudy for Cairns. Townsville, partly cloudy. Maroochydore, shower or two. Brisbane, partly cloudy. Gold Coast, morning shower or two,” Mac said.
