Westfield Booragoon: Police incident involving allegedly stolen car causes traffic congestion

Police are investigating an incident involving a possible stolen car near Westfield Booragoon which caused heavy traffic for shoppers.

It is believed more than one person was arrested at the scene, which occurred on Riseley Street between Marmion Street and Coomoora Road on Friday morning.

Main Roads said traffic was banked up in the area before the road fully opened by 12pm.

Details surrounding the incident are limited, but it is understood police are probing whether anyone inside the alleged stolen car threw items out of the vehicle.

A St John WA spokeswoman said nobody was injured.

There is no threat to the public in the area — who were gathered at the major shopping centre for early Black Friday Sales.
