A man wanted by detectives over a disturbing blow torch attack that left another man fighting for life in hospital has been found allegedly “hiding out” in a Perth hotel.

The victim, who is aged in his 40s, was doused in a flammable liquid and set alight with a blow torch, police claim.

Several Gang Crime Squad detectives arrested Stitson at a hotel in East Perth on Monday evening.

Vision shared by WA Police show Stitson opening the room door, raising his hands and submitting willingly, ending a city-wide manhunt.

He has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and is due in Rockingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Stitson’s co-accused, a 24-year-old man, was arrested in Rockingham on Wednesday and was charged with the same offence.

He will next appear in court on February 7.

The “fireball” caused extensive burns to the entire front of the victim’s body and head, police said.

As of Monday night, he remained in a critical but stable condition in Royal Perth Hospital.

Police shared disturbing footage of the alleged attack at the weekend.

“I think it’s confronting vision and I wish nothing like that happens in WA,” WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch said.

“We are a good state, we have extremely low crime.”

The accused men are alleged bikie associates but the victim is not, police said. The trio are believed to be known to each other.

Detectives raided several properties in their search for Stitson, and Blanch thanked the community for phoning in what information they had.
