Gun scare: WA Police swarmed southern Perth suburb after a report of armed person
Police — including the Tactical Response Group — swarmed a southern Perth suburb on Wednesday amid a report someone was armed with a gun.
But police have stressed there are no concerns for public safety, and that the original call about a person being armed in Yangebup has so far not been substantiated.
TRG officers were seen parked up on Tamara Drive before leaving the area around 3.40pm.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.In a statement, police confirmed they were called by a member of the public just after midday following reports of someone in the Yangebup area who may have been sighted with a gun.
“About 12.30pm, a member of the public reported to police a male that was sighted leaving bushland near Yangebup Lake who was believed to be in possession of a firearm,” the statement said.
“A number of resources were deployed to the area, including TRG.
“Only one report was received and at this time has not been substantiated.
“There have been no further reports and there are no current concerns for public safety.”
A spokesperson for Catholic Education WA said students at the nearby Mater Christi Catholic Primary School had been locked down as a precautionary measure.
