A Perth university student missing since last week has been found.

The woman was last seen on Mills St in the southern suburb of Bentley about 5pm on Friday.

On Wednesday, police and the 27-year-old’s mother appealed for help from the community saying they were extremely concerned for her safety and welfare.

She had made plans with her mother to catch up on Saturday and was also set to celebrate her birthday on Wednesday, but had not attended either date.

The woman had also failed to answer any of her mother’s calls, and her mother said her behaviour was “unusual”.

On Thursday morning police confirmed she had been found “safe and well” in Yalgoo, 500km northeast of Perth late on Wednesday night.

Following a media conference police said they had received a number of calls from members of the public who said they had seen the student.

“(Her) mother is extremely appreciative but has requested privacy at this time,” police said.
