Pedestrian dies in Kings Park crash before woman killed in truck collision in Karragullen

A man has been charged over one of two fatal crashes that happened within hours of each other in Western Australia on Tuesday.

A 67-year-old female pedestrian was critically injured when she was allegedly hit by a black Toyota Yaris hatchback on Kings Park Rd near Outram St in Kings Park, Perth just before 7am.

The woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital but could not be saved.

A 30-year-old man from Osborne Park was charged with dangerous driving causing death in circumstances of aggravation.

He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

In a separate fatal incident just three hours later, a 24-year-old woman was killed when her Mitsubishi Lancer collided with a Mercedes prime mover truck in Perth’s southeast.

The crash happened on Brookton Hwy near the intersection of Logger Rd in Karragullen about 9.55am.

The 24-year-old Mitsubishi driver died at the scene from her injuries, WA Police said.

The prime mover driver, 40, was treated for minor injuries.
