The 24-year-old woman, who had just entered the car, died at the scene.

The rideshare driver, a man in his 20s, had to be freed from the wreckage of the white hatchback and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with critical injuries.

Dr Bellinge was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital with serious injuries and was charged after investigations from major crash investigators.

Ellen, a neighbour, told 7NEWS she heard the crash and ran out to help.

“She was unconscious the whole time we were there, and when we first got to her, she was breathing and had a pulse,” Ellen told 7NEWS.

“But over the time, it did seem as though she lost that.”

Another witness said the Jaguar driver appeared in distress, covering his face with his hands.

Dr Bellinge’s website describes him as a “pioneer in freezing human eggs”, who performed Western Australia’s first embryo biopsy for genetic testing.

“A dedicated father of two, Dr Bellinge is committed to helping families achieve safe and healthy pregnancies, from conception through delivery,” the biography on his website says.

“He now practices as an obstetrician-gynaecologist at SJOG Murdoch, specialising in both routine and high-risk pregnancies.”
