The truck came to rest next to train tracks, facing against traffic.

The male driver, 39, could not be saved and tragically died at the scene.

Major Crash detectives are investigating and have appealed for witnesses to come forward with information.

Southbound lanes between Rowley Rd and Anketell Rd, a three-kilometre stretch of road, were closed for several hours on Friday afternoon, with emergency services on the scene.

The crash was cleared just before 4pm, with two tow trucks called in to remove the wreckage.
