A woman has died following a collision between two vehicles in Sydney’s northwest.

A silver Mercedes sedan and a white Isuzu ute crashed into each other on Tuckwell Rd, Castle Hill, just before 5.25pm on Wednesday.

The front passenger of the Mercedes, a 58-year-old woman, was treated by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

She later died at the hospital.

The driver, a 24-year-old woman, and two other passengers, aged 60 and 18, were also taken to Westmead Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 47-year-old driver of the ute was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

He is assisting police with their investigation into the crash.

“Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” police said.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
