Young motorbike rider dies in crash with car towing boat on Sunshine Coast

A young motorbike rider has died when he collided with a car towing a boat on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

The 23-year-old was riding along Albany St near Claymore Rd in Sippy Downs when he crashed into a Kia Sportage just after midnight on Sunday.

Emergency services initially treated the Palmview man for serious injuries but he was then declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Kia, a 54-year-old man, was not physically injured.

Police are investigating the crash and are asking any witnesses or anyone who may have any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
