Australia’s fastest-growing jobs revealed: English teachers, servers, and travel agents top the 2025 LinkedIn list
Australia’s fastest-growing jobs have been announced — with some surprising finalists.
On Tuesday, LinkedIn revealed Australia’s booming job roles, with several conventional and unconventional ones making their mark.
A staggering 80 per cent of the jobs on this year’s list are new, with hospitality and travel roles surging post-pandemic.

The list uses “unique LinkedIn data to uncover trends in Australia’s evolving work landscape, highlighting emerging opportunities that jobseekers might not have considered before”, LinkedIn career expert Cayla Dengate said.
The increase in international student numbers is behind the push for English teachers, with many foreign students seeking to enhance their language skills.
Hospitality and travel roles have also grown in popularity, as roles vacated during the pandemic are back in strong demand. Restaurant and bar servers ranked in the top five rising jobs, with travel specialists, pilots and aircraft maintenance engineer roles also ranking highly.
Wine lovers also have something to raise their glass to in 2025, with a sommelier now our fourth fastest-growing job, earning between $75,000 and $85,000 per-year.

Interpersonal skills take centre stage in a modern workforce
Those intending to land a job in the top 15 should have strong “soft skills”, Dengate said.
“Communication and the growing importance of mastering ‘people skills’ is more important than ever.
“As business leaders look for core competencies that AI cannot easily replace, there’s now more value than ever in skills such as communication, building relationships, creativity and complex decision-making,” she said.
Notably, a number of the jobs on this year’s list were people facing, such as teaching, employee relations and front-line hospitality roles, which she said “highlight the growing demand for skills like communication, empathy and adaptability”.
“These roles underscore the value of human-centric abilities in navigating modern work environments, making them essential for career growth and success in today’s job market”, Dengate said.
