Media mogul Kerry Stokes has paid tribute to gifted and talented colleagues and the Seven Network’s innovative content as he steps down as chair of the company’s board.

Media mogul Kerry Stokes has paid tribute to gifted and talented colleagues and the Seven Network’s innovative content as he steps down as chair of the company’s board.
Mr Stokes was chair of Seven West Media for more than 14 years and has been interim chair of Southern Cross Media Group since the two media entities officially merged last month.
Prior to Seven West Media, Mr Stokes was chair of Seven Network and Seven Media Group, overseeing Channel Seven and its related assets across digital and publishing since 1995.

“I’ve worked with some of the industry’s most gifted and talented people delivering innovative sport, news and entertainment content to Australian audiences.
“The newly merged organisation is an important part of the fabric of the Australian way of life and our people will continue to deliver the best quality outcomes to our customers and our communities.”
Mr Stokes said he expected talented staff at the company would continue to support Seven, and that it would continue to grow.
The Stokes family remains major shareholders in Southern Cross Media Group, with son Ryan representing the family on the board.
Heith Mackey-Cruise takes over as chair from Monday.
“Kerry’s contribution to the media industry in Australia is unparalleled,” Mr Mackey-Cruise said.
“His impact in bringing the SCA and Seven West assets together will be enduring. Our board, management and staff are committed to harnessing the potential of that opportunity.”
