Kayla Itsines made the “surreal” announcement on Friday that she has become the sole owner of her hugely popular fitness app Sweat after previously selling it for $195 million.
The Australian fitness queen, 34, took to social media to announce the “new and exciting chapter” that “means more to me than anyone will ever know”.
Itsines shot to fame more than a decade ago after launching her Bikini Body Guide ebook. She is now best known for Sweat, which is a workout and meal planning app with more than one million active monthly users.

She continued to tell her more than 15 million followers that the “most exciting chapter yet” was “only the beginning”.
Itsines co-founded Sweat with her ex-fiance Tobi Pearce in 2015, whom she shares a daughter, Arna.
They sold the business six years later to US company iFIT in a deal initially reported to be $400m but later revealed as $195m.
Friends and fellow influencers took to the comments section of her Instagram post with congratulatory messages and high-praise for the trainer.
Her sister Leah, a cooking entrepreneur, said: “FINALLY. So ready for this.”

Perth-based influencer Gabi Cross said: “SO proud of you girl!!!” and Steph Claire Smith labelled it as an “incredible achievement.”
In September, Itsines opened up about how she built her multi-million dollar empire which was largely thanks to an impressive business portfolio.
“I have commercial real estate, things like petrol stations, medical centres, residential stuff. And I am also getting into supplements as well. So, a lot of things,” she told jobs app Getahead for a jobseeking TikTok series.

In 2024, the Greek-Aussie featured on the Australian Financial Review’s Young Rich List, taking out number 34 with an estimated worth of $171 million.
With her healthy bank account in tow, Itsines this month snapped up a $13 million waterfront mansion on the Gold Coast.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home’s luxury features include a tennis court, infinity pool, cocktail bar, wine cellar, built-in trampoline, lavish marble entertaining terrace, and a pontoon and boat shed at the water’s edge.
Itsines married Jae Woodroffe in December 2023 and they share a young son named Jax.
