Boss Energy appoints former Oil Search chief Peter Botten as chairman, revises production guidance
Boss Energy has appointed sector veteran Peter Botten as its new chairman.
Perth-based uranium producer Boss Energy has appointed sector veteran Peter Botten as its new chairman and met its revised 2026 financial year production guidance after heavy rainfall dented its original targets.
The company announced on Friday that the former Oil Search chief would take on the role from September 30, replacing Wyatt Buck, who was chair for three years and will now become an independent non-executive director.
Mr Botten has more than 45 years of experience in the industry, best known for leading Oil Search for most of that time, including through the development of the massive PNG LNG Project. He also chaired AGL Energy.

The company advised in April that heavy rain had restricted site access and limited the delivery of reagents and other goods required for production and plant infrastructure ramp-up.
Boss Energy said it had decided to bring forward the targeted release of its new feasibility study and updated life-of-mine plan for Honeymoon, plus an updated mineral resource estimate, by the end of August instead of September.
“Boss has the opportunity to be a leading uranium producer, with a strong platform of production here in Australia,” Mr Botten said.
