Qantas uniform: Rebecca Vallance, Australian luxury fashion designer, appointed to design new uniforms

Australian luxury fashion designer Rebecca Vallance has been appointed to design the new Qantas staff uniform.
The 45-year-old, who is the founder of a Sydney-based couture label of the same name, was selected to redesign the airline’s iconic uniform following a competitive submission process with other designers.
The garments will launch in 2027, replacing the current uniform by Melbourne-born designer, Martin Grant.

Vallance’s signature designs — which first launched in 2011 — have been showcased in Paris, New York Fashion Week and Australian Fashion Week and worn by the likes of Hailey Bieber, Paris Hilton, Lady Gaga and Eva Mendez.
Vallance first partnered with Qantas in 2023 to design a bespoke business class pyjama and amenity kit in honour of the airline’s new flight route from Sydney to New York.
Vallance said she was thrilled by the appointment and said she was looking forward to creating an “iconic, yet wearable” uniform.
“To be trusted with this redesign is a huge milestone for me personally and for my brand,” she said.
“This is a defining moment in my career, not just because of the scale of the project, but because of the trust Qantas has placed in me.
“It’s a partnership I am deeply grateful for.”

Qantas chief executive Vanessa Hudson said the new design marked a new era for the airline.
“We’re proud to be working with Rebecca Vallance to define the new look and to reflect where Qantas is heading,” she said.
“We want the new uniform to reflect the pride our team feel when they wear it and this redesign is a collaborative journey that will be shaped by our people every step of the way.”
