Woolworths is set to drop the prices on its spring essentials in-store from Wednesday, with an average decrease in price of 23 per cent across hundreds of items.

More than 450 products are set to drop in price, with fresh proteins and pantry staples included in the price cuts.

“Our customers have told us they’re looking for value more than ever before,” Woolworths Chief Commercial Officer Paul Harker said.

“This spring we have more than 450 products dropping in price to help them better manage their budgets.

“In addition to our seasonal campaign, we’re also introducing a range of products at a lower shelf price to provide customers with even more ways for their budget to go further for more sustained periods of time at Woolworths.

“We continue to work hard to provide customers with value when shopping with us.”

Many popular meat buys have been included in the spring reductions, including:

  • Champagne Leg Ham Sliced From The Deli — was $23.50/ kg, now 15 per cent less at $20/kg.
  • Woolworths Beef Sizzle Schnitzel 400g — was $12, now 17 per cent less at $10.
  • Woolworths Chicken RSPCA Approved Chicken Wings 1.38kg - 1.8kg — was $9, now 22 per cent less at $7.

Several pantry staples like salad dressing, snacks and kid’s yoghurts are also dropping in price, including:

  • Dairy Farmers Thick & Creamy Blueberry Yoghurt 150g — was $2.60, now $1.70.
  • Peters Maxibon Vanilla 4 Pack — was $10.50, now $7.
  • Vaalia Kids Probiotic Yoghurt Pouch Vanilla 140g — was $2.40, now $2.
  • Praise Dressings Thousand Island 330ml — was $3.60, now $3.
  • McCain Beer Batter Steakhouse Chips 750g — was $5.80, now $5.20.

The spring essential price cuts will be in place from August 28 through to November 26.

Woolworths is also introducing a red lower shelf price sticker to help identify these cheaper goods in-store and online, which will continue year-round.

More than 50 items are set to adorn this red sticker from Wednesday, with more set to be introduced in September.

The cheaper items include:

  • Essentials Tuna 425g — was $3.50, now 5.7 per cent cheaper at $3.30.
  • Woolworths Greek Yoghurt 1kg — was $4.40, now 4.5 per cent cheaper at $4.20.
  • Essentials Sugar White 1kg — was $2, now 10 per cent cheaper at $1.80.
  • Pauls Protein Yoghurt 160g — was $2.90, now 20.7 per cent cheaper at $2.30.
  • Do Good Labs Mix 115-120g — was $4.50, now 22.2 per cent cheaper at $3.50.
  • Bulla Double Cream 200ml — was $4.80, now 10.4 per cent cheaper at $4.30.
  • Kellogg’s Guardian 360g — was $7.50, now 13.3 per cent cheaper at $6.50.
