Ariana Grande planning to take part in Focker-in-Law press tour despite stepping back from spotlight
The actress and singer’s showbiz hiatus comes with a couple of exceptions, it’s now been revealed.
Ariana Grande is planning to take part in promotional content for her upcoming movie Focker-in-Law despite announcing her showbiz hiatus last month.
The 33-year-old singer and actress announced in early August that she would be stepping back from the public eye following the conclusion of the Eternal Sunshine Tour.
However, it seems her break from the spotlight will not stop her from being involved in Focker-in-Law press commitments, as she is “proud” to be a part of the upcoming comedy, according to Billboard.

It will see Greg Focker (De Niro) face new chaos when his son (Stiller) brings home a girlfriend (Grande) who is a former hostage negotiator.
Grande will also continue to work on her brands such as R.E.M Beauty.
It comes after Grande’s representative told People on August 2 that “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour.
“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.
“This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”
The next day, the Grammy winner told fans at her concert in Chicago that her decision “was not a reactive or impulsive thing” but actually a plan she “quietly made a long time ago”.
“I’m going to share this because I heard that my fans were worried negativity was ‘ruining things for me’, but I just have to say that could not be [further from the truth],” she said.
“I promise you this is not what that is and I just want to be very, very clear multiple things can be true at the same time. Boundaries need to be set.
“Human beings can need a break sometimes.”
Grande also pulled out of her starring role in the upcoming West End revival of Sunday in the Park With George.
She’d been set to reunite in the 2027 stage production with fellow Wicked star Jonathan Bailey, who also recently dropped out of the cast.
