Aussie model Elle Macpherson reveals secret cancer battle and says she refused chemotherapy
Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson has revealed she secretly battled cancer seven years ago.
The 60-year-old opened up about her fight against breast cancer in an interview with Women’s Weekly, saying she was in shock when her doctor informed her of her diagnosis.
“It was a shock, it was unexpected, it was confusing, it was daunting in so many ways,” she told the media outlet.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.In an upcoming memoir titled Elle, Macpherson also revealed that despite her doctor suggesting chemotherapy and a mastectomy, she controversially refused both.
“I chose a holistic approach,” she wrote.
“Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
“But saying no to my own inner sense would have been even harder.”
Macpherson is now in remission and says she is feeling amazing.
“In traditional terms, they’d say I’m in clinical remission, but I would say I’m in utter wellness. And I am!” Macpherson said.
“Truly, from every perspective, every blood test, every scan, every imaging test … but also emotionally, spiritually and mentally – not only physically.
“It’s not only what your blood tests say, it’s how and why you are living your life on all levels.”
