The remains of an actress who appeared in The Blues Brothers, The Ten Commandments and The Lady Sings The Blues have been found in her Altadena home.

Dalyce Curry, 95, was last seen on Tuesday when a family member dropped her home after receiving medical care in hospital, ABC7 reported.

Granddaughter and part-time carer Dalyce Kelley left Curry at her home to rest while she went to look after other family members.

But the deadly wildfires that have ravaged large parts of California and have so far claimed 24 lives tore through Curry’s home.

All that was left was her Cadillac, parked outside the burnt out remains of her home.

Her family spent days desperately holding out hope that the unaccounted for former actress may have been rescued, however, were informed by the coroner that her remains had been located and identified.

Ms Kelley confirmed her grandmother’s death on Facebook, saying: “This loss is devastating.”

“We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways.”

Curry’s family say the 95-year-old had acted younger than her 95 years.

“She was very active, you would not think she was 95,” granddaughter Loree Beamer-Wilkinson told ABC7 before learning of Curry’s death.

Curry’s career in Hollywood started in the 1950s, where she was a prominent figure in “Old Black Hollywood”.

Throughout her decades-long career, she performed as an extra in multiple blockbuster films.
